Very good post. Do you know about US Politics and the elections this year. Also check out about Ron Paul who is the first honest candidate in several decades to be running for Presidential nomination. You can also search in Google or Youtube to know more about him and his ideas. God bless.

What 'The West' has taken from outside & then given back to the world culturally & artistically since the Enlightenment is immense. Nowhere is this more apparent nowadays than the popularity of the Western canon of classical music in East Asia.

The legacy of the West, with all its flaws, in these and other ways (political & social) are unassailable, but the world moves on. What develops from this is totally in play. And that is how it should be. To suggest this essntially European influence was dependent on a narrow Friedmanesque laissé faire capitalism is precisely the blinkered thinking that could in time return the West to a peripheral & future cultural Dark Age.

The only 'Defence of Western Cultural Dominance', if such a thing were necessary or even desirable, is openness & creativity. Not a circling of conservative cultural wagons.

Whoever wrote this post is not concerned with defending Western culture, but with a futile wish to preserve the US economic & popular cultural predominance of the past 60 years and which
is now in relative decline.

Ubermensch (an interesting psuedonym to choose) should take up the piano or the gazoo and make the best cultural contribution he can, since prose is clearly not his forte.
