“This is the fiction that we live in. This is why our situation feels so schizophrenic. Of course as we go through this presidential election the contradictions are heightened almost to the point off nausea because what is under discussion is what manner of fine-tuning shall be applied to the social machinery in order to make it possible to hold together the illusion of business as usual – and the answer is there is no such fine-tuning, it’s all finished. Instead what is needed is a radical openness to new ideas of all sorts.” – Terence McKenna
This is indeed the fiction we live. As Novemember approaches, less than 50% of Americans will be casting the vote for the Puppet of the United States of America - Commander-in-Chief of the Status Quo and the machinery of enslavement. Oh sweet Nausea, i salute thee.
We are left with the ultimate choice – a choice no different than the choice between the the grande mocha frap and the grande caramel frap. The future of the country – the country that has come to embody human progress and values of “freedom” - is left to the best circumlocutious liars and backstabbers in a nation of sheep.
There were days the status quo could be escaped by going to live on the farm – and indeed, we can still escape, in some ways, by going to live on the pharm. But hear me now, the status quo has taken the farm and it will take the pharm. The soma of the vedas becomes the soma of Huxley’s worst nightmare.
This is the fiction that we live in.
